From the very beginning, Sumitomo (SHI) Demag has been one of the companies that has shaped injection moulding technology to a considerable extent. In 1956, the predecessor company Ankerwerk Gebr. Goller in Nuremberg developed the first single-screw injection moulding machine. Since then, we have accumulated a wealth of experience in our factories and converted it into new products and processes. The people in Thuringian Wiehe have also been building small high-performance machines for nearly 40 years. Since its modernisation in 1993, the factory has developed into one of the leading specialist companies for manufacturing small injection moulding machines up to 1,500 kN clamping force. In more than forty years of success and a well established tradition in injection moulding machine design and engineering, Sumitomo (SHI) Demag machines have built up an excellent reputation in the international marketplace.
